Performance Reporting Resources
St. Mark’s Hospital is committed to delivering high-quality services to all of our patients. As part of that commitment, we support transparency of hospital performance, quality outcomes and healthcare costs.
When it's time to select a hospital for your care, we encourage you to talk with your personal physician about his or her recommendations. We also suggest that you consider other credible sources of information about hospital quality and performance, including these:
- Health Grades Hospital Ratings
- Hospital Compare Results

What is HealthGrades®?
It is the nation’s leading independent healthcare ratings organization,
providing quality ratings and profiles of hospitals, nursing homes and
physicians to consumers, corporations and health plans. A trusted resource
for more than 10 years, HealthGrades enables approximately eight million
individuals to research healthcare providers on HealthGrades.com monthly.
Who does HealthGrades rate/profile?
• Quality ratings for each of the nation’s 5,000 hospitals
• Quality metrics and demographic profiles on 750,000 physicians
• Identification of HealthGrades Five-Star Doctors™ and HealthGrades
• Prescription drug rating and comparison tool
How does HealthGrades rate hospitals?
It independently and objectively rates the quality of care for nearly every
hospital in the country, for each of 28 procedures and diagnoses – from
bypass surgery to knee replacement to treatment for a heart attack. The
analysis is “risk adjusted,” meaning that hospitals taking sicker patients can
be compared on equal footing with other hospitals.
