Accelerate your nursing career by joining our Specialty Training Apprenticeship for Registered Nurses (StaRN) program! Our Nurse Graduate Program is designed to help you prepare to succeed in an acute care hospital setting. The program is comprised of a combination of didactic training, high definition simulation and clinical preceptorship.
As an RN in our StaRN program, you receive the education and support necessary to develop the judgment, skill and knowledge you'll need to become the highest caliber nurse. You will have the opportunity to be mentored by the best, most highly educated and trained nurses within our facilities.
During the StaRN program, you will work with instructors to complete class assignments, skills training, exercises and relevant testing. Then, you will work with your preceptor during the preceptorship that follows. At successful program completion, you will be a full-time hospital employee with specialty training, established relationships and familiarity with our values and culture.
Our next StaRN programs will begin in June and September 2017. We invite you to apply now for our current specialties including: Medical/Surgical, ICU, Step-Down ICU and Behavioral Health Units.
Candidates for the program will interview with hospitals and will be identified for specific units. Participating StaRN hospitals include: Brigham City Community Hospital, Cache Valley Hospital, Lakeview Hospital, Lone Peak Hospital, Mountain View Hospital, Ogden Regional Medical Center, St. Mark's Hospital and Timpanogos Regional Medical Center.
First 7 weeks: Monday-Friday, Days, with intermittent home study days
Preceptorship: 3 - 12 hours shifts, Rotating Shifts

Program acceptance requires a minimum two (2) year commitment to the sponsoring facility.
- Current Licensure as an RN in Utah by the program start date
- Applicants may apply for the program prior to passing the NCLEX exam
- Self-motivated and strong communication skills required
- Acceptance into the program requires a two year commitment to MountainStar Healthcare
