Community Involvement
St. Mark’s Hospital Diabetes Center generously donates to, supports and participates in annual American Diabetes Association Expo by providing free screenings of blood sugar, cholesterol and blood pressure, as well as basic diabetes education to community members in attendance. Come visit us there on the last Saturday of each February.

Our Diabetes Center also organizes involvement in supporting the local awareness/fundraising walks for diabetes each year.
One of our educators teaches a class several times a year for the local firemen and paramedics about diabetes and responding to emergencies related to diabetes.
Our educators will occasionally reach out to other community groups or gatherings (churches, senior centers, health fairs) to spread awareness about diabetes.
