St. Mark's Hospital Pharmacy Residency Program
St. Mark’s Hospital is a community hospital located in the center of the Salt Lake Valley and is part of the MountainStar Healthcare network of hospitals, clinics and outpatient centers across the Wasatch Front. As a cornerstone of our thriving community, St. Mark’s offers invaluable expertise gained from delivering exceptional patient care since 1872. Our hospital is dedicated to providing high-quality healthcare to our 317 licensed beds and is the only hospital in Utah listed among the 50 Top Cardiovascular Hospitals nationwide (Truven Analytics 2015). We are proud to hold six five-star HealthGrade ratings in pneumonia treatment, maternity care, sepsis treatment, colorectal surgery, heart attack care, and total knee replacement. St. Mark’s was recently given the Distinguished Hospital Award for Clinical Excellence by HealthGrades for ranking as one of the top 5% in the nation for overall clinical excellence.
Epic® was implemented as our integrated electronic medical record in February 2013 to enhance our clinical excellence and medical innovation.
Pharmacists at St. Mark’s provide patient-centered care through effective drug therapy management by working in collaboration with the entire health-care team to ensure positive patient outcomes. Our clinical pharmacists are extensively involved in the delivery of quality patient care through involvement in interdisciplinary patient care committees, decentralized clinical services and active participation in family practice rounds, ICU and progressive care rounds.
