In order to provide state-of-the-art expert care, St. Mark’s Hospital has added a second da Vinci surgical robot to its facility. Both of the robots – the newest da Vinci XI ® and da Vinci Si ® – offer an alternative to traditional large-incision surgery. Their minimally invasive approach seamlessly mimics a surgeon’s hand movements with a wider range of motion using robotic arms, allowing physicians to perform complex dissections or reconstructions with a much smaller incision. As a result, patients experience less trauma, reduced pain, faster recovery times and minimal scarring.
