St. Mark's Hospital - November 01, 2016

Many of you have requested that our radiology department have the ability to import images from other facilities, so that outside images may be viewed in PACS. In September, our radiology department collaborated with IT&S to add this new capability. Now image CDs brought to the radiology department can be loaded into PACS 24/7. During regular working hours, the file room staff will load the images. After hours, radiology technical staff will load the images. Outside images will remain in PACS for a period of months, then be deleted on a first-in first-out basis, unless the attending physician has previously requested that the images be retained in PACS permanently, or unless the patient has other imaging performed at St. Mark’s Hospital creating a permanent image file location in PACS.
