Nicki has more than 30 years of nursing experience with a clinical background in critical care nursing. She has held various clinical and leadership roles, including ICU Educator, Clinical Nurse Specialist for ICU, Nursing Director of Critical Care, as well as Nursing Research coordinator. Nicki worked with the North Texas Division of HCA in Clinical Improvement, Quality and Patient Safety prior to spending five years as the CNO of Medical City Denton. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from the College of St. Scholastica in Duluth, MN, a Master’s Degree in Nursing from the University of Missouri, and a Doctorate of Nursing Practice from Texas Christian University, and she holds two specialty certifications. She has conducted several research and evidence-based practice projects and published several peer reviewed journal articles related to glycemic control, sepsis management, and stroke care.

Nicki and her husband Ken have been married for 30 years and have a son Anthony, who lives in Kansas City, Missouri, and a daughter Abbey, who lives in Columbia, Missouri. They enjoy attending sporting events and traveling.
