Top 3 planned initiatives for 2019
- Improve OR metrics - Room Turnaround Times and Surgical Block Utilization
- Reduce turnover in ancillary departments by at least 10%. Reduced turnover will lead to higher efficiency in metrics and improved patient satisfaction.
- Prioritization of construction/expansion/renovation projects at St. Mark's. There are a multitude of major project requests that need to be done in 2019. Prioritizing those projects is key.
Sean Patterson was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee and grew up in the Tennessee and Kentucky area (except for a three year stint in Texas in Middle School). He attended the University of Kentucky for his undergraduate degree (Biology) and his graduate degree (Masters in Healthcare Administration).
During his tenure as a graduate student, he worked as a clerk in the Emergency Department of the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky. Upon graduation, he was hired as an Administrative Fellow with St. Mary’s Health System in Evansville, Indiana. It was there he met his future wife, Amy Upon completing his fellowship, he accepted a position as a Manager of Performance Improvement with HCA. Over the next 18 months, he visited multiple HCA hospitals through the country, as far east as Tampa and as far west as Anchorage, Alaska. He was accepted into the Executive Development Program in 2014 and hired as the Associate Chief Operating Officer at TriStar Skyline Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee.
In 2016, after serving as the ACOO at Skyline, he was selected as the Chief Operating Officer at TriStar StoneCrest Medical Center in Smyrna, Tennessee, just southeast of Nashville. Sean and his wife, Amy, have been married since 2014. They have a 19 month old son, Alexander, and they are expecting their second child, a girl named Audrey, due at the end of January. They also have two dogs: a beagle named Chloe and a half-lab, half-husky mix named Max. In his spare time, Sean enjoys golfing, sightseeing, reading, and watching movies.
