Dr. Evans limits his practice and specializes in the treatment of Shoulder, Hip and Knee disorders. In order to provide the expertise to treat all ages from young to old, he completed 2 fellowships after finishing his Orthopaedic Residency at the University of Utah. His first fellowship involved Joint Replacement Surgery at Joint Implant Surgeons in Columbus Ohio. He then completed a Sports Medicine Fellowship at The American Sports Medicine Institute in Birmingham Alabama. Dr. Evans is Duel Board Certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery in both Orthopaedic Surgery and Sports Medicine. Professionally, Dr. Evans worked with the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs for 6 years prior to coming to Utah. He has served as the Sports Medicine Director and Consultant for numerous professional and amateur teams. In addition, Dr. Evans has worked closely with the Arthritis Association and with Biomet Orthopaedic Engineers to improve both implant design and implantation techniques to benefit those with debilitating arthritis. Dr. Evans is currently working on 2 research projects at the Polymers Laboratory at the University of Utah to improve bone loss and infections in joint replacement surgery.
