James Pingree, MD, is a native of Salt Lake City. He received his bachelor of science degree in Zoology from Brigham Young University, where he was a Presidential Scholar. He took time out during his undergraduate years to serve as a missionary for the LDS Church in Paris, France. After his mission, he attended medical school at the University of Utah. Subsequently, he completed a neurological surgery residency at the university. He is currently board-certified as a Diplomate of the American Board of Neurological Surgery. He has been in practice in adult neurosurgery specializing in minimally invasive surgery of the brain and spine at St. Marks Hospital since 2003.
